| Piesty, the mascot of the BMD, died in a tragic
accident immediately after the last game in Jönköping. A decision was made to bring the dead
body to Karlstad to give it a worthy funeral.
I want to convey the seriousness of the incidence to those, who lack the knowledge, to help them
understand why adult men could not hide their emotions. Piesty is - or was - a plastic dragon on wheels,
a loyal fan of the german national hockey team.
The tragic of this accident is even augmented by the fact that Piesty was hijacked by evil Swiss to
revenge for losing the bet (report also on this site). But the next morning the guilty conscience made
the Swiss bringing him (or her?) back to the relief of the German fans, who feared that Piesty was lost.
Lost, foudn again and then the tragic death. This is too much even for tough guys.
The reader now may have the knowledge to watch the pictures with the required seriousness.

The Swedes are a seafaring tribe and so we arranged for a funeral at sea. The gentlemen Leo and Werner
from Cologne, Eiszäpfle from Stuttgart and Hägar (with beer) from Dortumung acted as pallbearers.
No minor would deserve this honour.

After the standard bearers and the drummers the dead corpse of Piesty followed to the beach. A condign ceremony
for the sad incident. The affected reader may notice that Attacke from Braunlage (first row in the middle) was
already moved to tears.

There was an impressing arrangement made for the ritus, resting on a beer bench covered with white drapery:
A Wiking helmet as decoration, a wooden raft, the corpse sewed into a Swedish flag. The raft was decorated
with flowers. The bottle holds spirit for cremnation of the corpse.

Leo from Cologne follows the ceremony with seriousness, but countenance. Mann from Stuttgart however
can not hold his emotions any more. Despite the sadness of the event, it is good to experience that men
still can show their emotions.

The last salutation of the mourners.

The last glance at the corpse of Piesty.
At least it should have been, but the waves got in way of the cremation on the lake Vänern. Thus
the corpse was taken back and buried in presence of the clostest affiliates on a camping site in Bomstad-Baden (?)
near Karlstad.
